Authentication and access control
Access control is available only to licensed users. If you would like to experience the full Siren Platform, register for a free trial. |
Siren Investigate can be integrated with Elasticsearch clusters that are secured by one of the following security solutions:
-
Elastic Stack security features ("Elastic Security")
-
Search Guard FLX
-
Search Guard Classic (supported only on Elasticsearch 7.x and earlier)
On Elasticsearch 8 and later, Search Guard Classic is not supported. New installations or upgrades from Elasticsearch 7.x must use either Elastic Security or Search Guard FLX. For Search Guard Classic documentation, see the dedicated section below. |
To ensure that your installation is secure, you must also enable HTTPS support in Siren Investigate and configure it to work with the authentication mechanisms that are configured in Elasticsearch.
For example, to secure your installation:
-
Enable HTTPS for Siren Investigate
-
Integrate with your chosen security solution:
-
For Elastic Stack security, see Elastic Stack security overview
-
For Search Guard FLX, see Search Guard FLX overview
-
For Search Guard Classic (Elasticsearch 7.x and earlier), see Search Guard Classic overview
-
-
Use the Authentication and access control app in Siren Investigate to configure user access.
For migration steps from Search Guard Classic to FLX, see the migration guide in the FLX section.
